Image Viewer

A minimal image viewer. One window, one image, arrow keys for the rest of the folder.

Just enough viewer.

Browse the folder, not a library

Open one image; arrow keys step through siblings in the same directory. No vault, no thumbnails strip, no library sidebar.

Fit · 100% · Free

Three zoom modes

Fits to window by default. Ctrl 1 for actual size, Ctrl scroll to zoom anywhere on the cursor.

Click-drag

Pan when zoomed

Grab and drag the image when it's larger than the window. Subtle scrollbars too.

F

Fullscreen

One key removes the titlebar and status line. Just the image. Esc to return.

PNG · JPEG · WebP · GIF · AVIF · SVG · BMP · ICO

Whatever the webview renders

No heavyweight decoder bindings. Animated GIFs, WebP, and AVIF play on loop automatically.

Tauri · Rust

Native Linux

Small binary. Real file associations. Set as the default for image files via the .deb.

A simple interface.

Focus One app, one job. One file, one window. No tabs, no project trees, no mode pickers — the work in front of you is the work.
Beauty A locked palette, careful typography, chrome that sits still. The apps shouldn't be the part of your desktop you have to forgive.
Simplicity No settings panel, no plugin system, no power-user knobs. If a feature can't be explained in a sentence, it doesn't ship.
Ownership Your files on your disk in their original format. No accounts, no cloud, no telemetry. MIT licensed; build it yourself if you don't trust ours.

Quick install

One-liner — downloads the AppImage to ~/.local/bin, marks it executable, and registers a launcher entry. Re-run to upgrade.

curl -fsSL https://krill-software.github.io/install.sh | bash -s image-viewer
or download a package
Download .deb
# install with apt
sudo apt install ./Image.Viewer_0.2.3_amd64.deb

# or with dpkg
sudo dpkg -i Image.Viewer_0.2.3_amd64.deb
Download AppImage
# make executable & run
chmod +x Image.Viewer_0.2.3_amd64.AppImage
./Image.Viewer_0.2.3_amd64.AppImage

Build it yourself

Clone, install dependencies, and build with Tauri. Needs Node (with pnpm) and a Rust toolchain.

pnpm install
pnpm tauri build
